Kuma is a coach, not a doctor

Kuma gives training guidance. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Before starting a training program, check with a doctor if you have a condition that could be affected by exercise. If something hurts, or you feel unwell, ease off and get it looked at. Kuma will never push you through pain, and neither should you.

Training carries some inherent risk. You are responsible for listening to your body and making the final call on every workout.

Your account

You need an account to use Kuma, created by signing in with Apple or Google. Keep your sign in method secure, and let us know if you think someone else is using your account. You must be old enough to hold the account under the laws where you live.

Subscriptions

Kuma Pro is a subscription purchased through the App Store. The price and what is included are shown in the app before you buy. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and you can cancel any time in your Apple account settings. If a trial is offered, the app explains what it includes and when it ends.

Coaching includes generous allowances for messages and voice, shown in the app. Allowances exist so every runner gets a coach that is fast and available, and the app always tells you where you stand.

Fair use

Please use Kuma as a person training with a coach. Do not abuse the service, probe or disrupt our systems, resell access, scrape content, or use Kuma to build a competing product. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

Our content

The Kuma app, this website, our brand, and our content belong to KumaTech. Your training data is yours. Nothing here transfers ownership in either direction.

Ending things

You can stop using Kuma at any time and delete your account inside the app. We can suspend or end access for behavior that breaks these terms. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription, so remember to cancel in your Apple account settings too.

Honest limits

We work hard to keep Kuma accurate, available, and careful, and we provide it as is. To the extent the law allows, KumaTech is not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the app or this website. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update this page and the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app. Using Kuma after a change means the updated terms apply.
